Artist Workshop: Megan Wilson
I had a really great time working with Megan. Although at first I was unsure what the process of the creation of public art was truly like, her presentation and discussion gave me new insights. Public art is about being selfless and passionate. Selfless because you are creating things for people with no apparent monetary benefit from them. Passionate because the only way to continue this work is to have a hunger for it. Although I initially had reservations about her flower work, after speaking to Megan I realized the flowers are a platform for conversation and social change. There are an emblem of peace and happiness from which so many other messages can be spread. It’s pretty amazing!
