Christine: Fave Part of Museum

My favorite part of the museum is the digital flowers that are scattered about the flower power exhibit, Cold Life in particular. I think that there is something about them that ties the whole exhibit together. The Flower Power exhibit it fascinating to me because it puts on modern spin on art of all time periods, and I think that the digital flowers are beautiful way of showing art in modern technology. The digital image transforms from a Chinese character meaning “life” into a tree.

Too often, I feel as though we separate technology and art as though they cannot mix. But I find art that utilizes technological advancements to be some of the most beautiful creations of all time because it so strongly represents who we are today. Technology is often given a bad rep in the art world and I think beautiful art like Cold Life proves that wrong.
